Can you still tell a human from a machine?
Spot the Human is a free daily game built around one uncomfortable question: now that AI can imitate almost anyone, can you still recognise a real person’s words? Each day, one human answer hides among the AI. Find it.
Play today’s puzzle →Why it exists
A few years ago, telling a person’s writing from a machine’s was easy. It isn’t anymore. Large language models can match almost any voice, and the gap keeps closing. The skill of noticing what still reads as human (the specific, the messy, the quietly personal) is suddenly worth practising.
So we made a game out of it. Every day, real people’s answers go up against AI’s, and you try to pick the human. It’s a one-minute daily check-in on an instinct that’s getting harder to trust. And, honestly, it’s just fun to argue with the machine.

Frequently asked
What is Spot the Human?
Spot the Human is a free daily browser game about telling people apart from AI. Each day you get one puzzle of five rounds. Every round shows a simple everyday question and four short answers: three written by AI, one written by a real person. Your job is to find the human.
How do you play?
Read the prompt, read the four answers, and tap the one you think a real person wrote. Do that for all five rounds and you get a score out of five, a spoiler-free emoji grid to share, and a streak if you come back the next day. A round takes a few seconds; the whole puzzle takes about a minute. No account needed.
Is Spot the Human free?
Yes. It's completely free, needs no sign-up, and there's a fresh puzzle every day.
How can you tell AI writing from a human?
The machines are good now, so the tells are small. Human answers tend to be specific, a little messy, and oddly personal: a real memory, an offhand aside, a weird detail no model would bother inventing. AI answers are often smoother, more balanced, and more 'helpful' than a person being casual would ever be. Spot the Human is a daily way to keep that instinct sharp.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. A brand-new five-round puzzle drops daily, each with its own theme (hot takes, pet peeves, childhood nostalgia, and more). Build a streak by playing every day.
Can I challenge friends?
Yes. After you finish, you can share a spoiler-free result card and a challenge link. Friends see your score and try to beat it on the same day's puzzle, without seeing which answers you picked.
Where do the human answers come from?
Real people write them. Anyone can contribute an honest answer to a prompt, and approved answers become the human hidden in a future puzzle. That's what keeps the human side genuinely human.
